Station 6 ‘A rainy day’ and ‘Farewell’
What do you actually do when it rains? Do you know that? The sky is overcast outside and it's not really getting light. Then I think about what I can do. Staying indoors all day is too boring for me. The big people always make a funny fidget in the gym over there - they call it sport... So I put on my rain gear - yes, even dwarves have something like that: a rainproof coat, muddy trousers and wellies. And I put on my gnome hat... ??? Speaking of gnome hats... I've put little gnome rain hats all over the spa gardens... can you see them between the flower beds? I put them there to protect the little creepy-crawlies from the rain, because they don't like being wet at all. I, on the other hand, love the mild summer rain... then I go outside and let the drops run down the tip of my nose and dance on the palms of my hands. It tickles a little and it feels cool - it's very refreshing. In autumn, I jump into the large piles of leaves and slide back and forth in my wellies. I don't come across many forest dwellers in the rain - they prefer to snuggle up at home. So I stand in the forest, breathe in and out deeply and listen to the rain pattering on the leaves of the trees and the earth. You should try that too: Stand with both feet firmly on the ground, close your eyes and listen to the sounds... Breathe in deeply... and exhale deeply.... deep in... deep in... deep out... deep in... deep out....
And now open your eyes and see how beautiful the forest is...
It's a shame that you'll soon be leaving me and heading out of the spa gardens again.
You can still see the large concert shell at the exit... sometimes there's music played especially for children... if you ever hear a dwarf song, you might think of me... of Friedel, the Harz dwarf, who bathes in the Oder in the moonlight with his dwarf rain hat or races across the lake on Kuno's back... who puts little glittering stones on your path and is happy to celebrate a dwarf festival with you... who makes sure that all the forest dwellers are doing well and is happy to receive little presents... I wish you lots of fun in the Harz forest, there is still so much to discover!
